The Moro di Sicilia orange is one of the oldest varieties of red orange, with a medium size. It has an orange peel but with shades of intense red on the sides. The pulp inside is red and almost seedless.

Sicilian Moro blood oranges are a winter fruit . Among the blood orange varieties, it is the one that ripens first, in fact they are usually ready at the beginning of January.

Its characteristic color is due to the effect of the temperature variations of Etna, which cause an accumulation of anthocyanins (antioxidant substances present in most vegetables) in the fruit. The Moro orange has an intense and sweet taste and its size makes this fruit suitable to be enjoyed whole or squeezed.

The Sicilian red orange is a true ally for health, thanks to its antioxidant properties, an essential source of vitamin C but also of water, potassium, magnesium, calcium, phosphorus and sodium. The latter have also been associated with anti-tumor and anti-inflammatory properties. Its organoleptic properties make this fruit a true concentrate of well-being. Furthermore, the presence of anthocyanins can promote stomach health and protect eye cells, preventing vision problems, keeping diabetes under control, preventing obesity and protecting blood vessels and red blood cells.

It is recommended to store them in cool places.
